1. Abbott Mount
This sleepy, quaint and pleasing hilltop at a height of 6400 ft is a majorly attractive tourist spot in Lohaghat. The view of the prominent Himalayan peaks from this hill is a delight to the eyes of a visitor. The various cottages scattered around this hill give it a homely feeling, and the tranquil location is a perfect spot for a small picnic amid the rich surrounding. A church is found in the midst of the looming trees of a forest atop this hill, which is a quiet spot to spend time in. Abbott Mount is the ideal destination for photographers and enthused tourists.

Located about 9kms from Lohaghat, Mayawati/ Advait Ashram is another popular tourist and pilgrim destination. Spiritualists from all over the world are attracted to this Ashram, and it also offers scenic beauty and stillness. The view of the Himalaya and its picturesque location makes this Ashram quite the appealing factor of the small town of Lohaghat. 3. Devidhura Temple(s)
Located 45kms away from Lohaghat is Devidhura, which houses the famous Barahi temples. An exceptional fair is held every year, and it attracts people from Nepal, Kumaon etc. on the day of Raksha Bandhan. Jim Corbett’s story known as ‘Temple Tiger’ is based on the unusual festival held in this temple. You can find out all about this festival upon visiting the temple, whether during the time of Raksha Bandhan, or at any other given time of the year. The temple is surrounded by beautiful looming trees and fresh flora and fauna that give it a certain charm and lure.
4. Vanasur Ka Kila (Banasur Fort)
Resting at a height of 1859mts, Banasur fort is found on the route known as Bhowali, famous for the tale of the killing of Vanasur. The origination of River Lohawati is from the Banasur Fort. This fort holds mythological as well as historical importance, and provides a great view of Lohaghat from the top. A scenic spot, this fortress tells the legend of Banasur, one which is best heard from locals and/or guides in and around the area. The plush trees and shrubs around, along with a panoramic view below make this fort a loved tourist destination.
5. Pancheshwar
This small, pretty village close to Lohaghat is met with a view of the two rivers —Saryu and Kali intertwining, that render a beautiful scene. Pancheshwar is quiet, and as of now, the hustle and bustle of the city and the pollution has had no effect on it. There is a famous Shiva temple amidst this town, and it is a major attraction for devotees. Even people from Nepal are lured towards this village due to the short distance between them. If you are travelling from Delhi by rail or road, you will get a beautiful view of your surroundings, and the route is much too delightful.
